To create a systematic and improved sewage drainage system across the city, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) sewage department is now working on a design initiative. A master plan for the next 30 years is been created by the department, through which all drainage pipelines and channels across Pune will be connected via the Geographic Information System (GIS). The total budget for this project is Rs 2.98 crore. Work has already begun, with measurements being taken and other details of drainage channels in the city being noted.
