Noisy Pune airport to turn into ‘silent’ facility from January 10

PUNE: Come January, the Lohegaon airport will become a “silent” facility.
Announcements related to departure and arrival of flights will reduce significantly in the “silent airport”. Passengers will have to primarily bank on flight information display boards for reaching the boarding gates. Airlines will also keep the passengers updated on flight status through text messages.
