Pune: The Maharashtra Orthopaedic Association’s social initiative to reach out to people across the state through a range of activities received an overwhelming response on May 1 — its foundation day.

More than 13,500 patients availed themselves of free medical check-up and consultations offered by over 1,600 specialist orthopaedic surgeons across the state. In addition, over 5,600 people attended public awareness camps on how to prevent common orthopaedic problems held at schools, colleges and senior citizens’ groups in many cities.
