PMRDA seeks assistance from Singapore govt-run company to prepare development plan

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has sought assistant from a Singapore government-run company to prepare the development plan (DP) for the city.

In a meeting which took place on Friday, Girish Bapat, Pune’s guardian minister along with Kiran Gite, CEO of PMRDA and other officials met a delegation from the Singapore government-run company.

“The assistance provided by the company would certainly be very effective. It would be helpful for PMRDA to achieve its aim of executing all the projects in a timebound manner.”

Possibilities of the Singapore government helping PMRDA with its ongoing work of planning the DP was discussed in the meeting.

Earlier in September 2017, even chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had met a delegation from the Singapore government to discuss the same proposal.

The officials also visited the Chakan – Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area for its proposed container port and logistics park.
