Mhalunge final DP to be ready by May
PUNE: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has received 45 suggestions and objections for the Mhalunge town planning scheme development plan in the one month period that ends next week.
PMRDA chief Kiran Gitte told TOI on Thursday that the authority has received both suggestions and objections from the villagers related to the finalising of the draft development plan (DP) and each case will be heard before finalising the plan next month.
With the state government giving power to the PMRDA commissioner, the draft will be finalised only after hearing all the suggestions and objections, he said.
With some villagers protesting against the scheme, Gitte said a separate hearing would be ensured for each case. “The government would appoint an arbitrator for this before the draft is finalised,” he added.
Altogether 19 town planning schemes are lined up around the proposed Ring Roadbased on the model Mhalunge town planning scheme in the next two years. This will ensure a facelift to several villages in the city’s fringe areas.
The town planning schemes have been proposed to make the 128km Ring Road project self-sustainable. The schemes will be come up in areas 500m from the proposed Ring Road.
The metropolitan authority had said it had started planning for the scheme at Mhalunge near Hinjewadi IT park, with almost 90% owners agreeing to land acquisition. While the land acquisition for Mhalunge is on, the PMRDA has also started planning six new town planning schemes in the Hadapsar Assembly constituency. Work in the area is expected to begin soon.
Meetings have been conducted with farmers from Nimbalkarwadi, Yewalewadi, Pisoli, Vadachiwadi, Handewadi-Autadwadi and Holkarwadi. Additional schemes are planned at Vadki, Manjari, Wagholi and other areas.
The Mhalunge-Mann draft DP proposal was announced on March 24 and the administration said they had obtained necessary permissions from the villagers for the project.
