PUNE: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is set to launch its lost-and-found cellphone -based application for passengers within a month or two.
Senior officials of the paramilitary force, which provides security to 59 airports across the country, said they have finished the final tests of the the application.
“At present, the CISF’s website has a lost-and-found section to help passengers who have misplaced their belongings at airports. Once the app is in place, the passengers can immediately report on it about the misplaced items,” said Hemendra Singh, assistant inspector general (AIG) and public relations officer of CISF.
Sources said as CISF does not have a regular director general at present, the application was expected to be launched once the appointment was made. A scanning of the lost-and-found list of items at the Pune airport reveals that electronic gadgets such as earphones, laptops and cellphones are mostly misplaced by the passengers. Garments also a common item to feature in the list.
