35% of varsity’s Rs 649 crore budget to focus on students`

PUNE: The Savitribai Phule Pune University on Saturday announced a budget of Rs 649 crore for the academic year 2018-19, almost Rs 29 crore less than the last year’s budget. With 35% allocation for a slew of measures — such as a placement cell, CSR cell, open learning centre, new BBA course in hospitality and facility management, a sports complex, etc — many hailed it as a student-centric budget.
