Eight members of standing committee to step down on the basis of lottery, including last chairman of civic panel

In the last standing committee meeting in the current chairman’s tenure, proposals worth more than Rs 150 crore were approved at once. While only a few projects like the parking policy were postponed and slotted for discussion in next meeting, many proposals which were not even mentioned in the agenda were tabled and sanctioned. Opposition leaders are now crying foul and are questioning the motive behind the rush for sanctioning the projects.
